Improv comedy has a rich history of accomplished teachers, coaches, and schools.  Skills and approaches are preserved from one generation to the next mostly through in-person training sessions.  Over time a wealth of mottos, platitudes, and sayings have been developed as a type of shorthand capable of communicating complicated concepts or solutions quickly.  Below is a collection of these mottos with thoughts on their dual application to comedy and the workplace.
